Kara Tennant, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Tennant grew up in Sacramento, California and graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Riverside in 2001. She then attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and completed her last year of veterinary school at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, graduating in 2006.
After graduating, she moved to Northern Virginia, where she practiced for 9 years before deciding to move to Redding, California. After 5 years in California, she decided it was time to move to an area where she could enjoy all of the outdoor activities she loves to do, and moved to Central Oregon.
Dr. Tennant’s professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and zoonotic diseases. She enjoys mentoring veterinary students and has been a part of the mentor programs at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as UC Davis and Western University of Health Sciences School of Veterinary Medicine.
In her spare time, you will probably find her outdoors, as she especially loves trail-running, mountain biking, and snowboarding. She lives with her partner, Thomas, and their full house of animals, having three cats (Jinx, Mini Jinx and Edward) and three dogs (Bronco, Sam and Ivy).
