Wildlife and Blue Sky

Sick and injured raptors are brought to our clinic from the far reaches of Central and Eastern Oregon. Most of the birds are brought to us by the Fish & Game Department or the Department of Wildlife who were called by the people who found them. These agencies bring the birds to us for evaluation.

We then determine if the bird can be rehabilitated and eventually released. It's an unfortunate fact that many of these beautiful birds cannot be released into the wild because their wings are damaged beyond repair.

This past summer we treated many species of native birds which were mostly raptors. These included Golden Eagles, Kestrels, Red Tailed Hawks, Prairie Falcons, and Great Horned Owls.

Our doctors donate their time to the Central Oregon community when working with raptors and other wildlife. The High Desert Museum works as a partner with Blue Sky to rehabilitate many of our birds of prey.
